Saint Titus Brandsma was a Carmelite martyr at the Dachau concentration camp in Germany. Hehad a Doctorate in Philosophy, taught at various universities and was an advisor to Catholic journalists. He was imprisoned for speaking against the spread of Nazism, defending the right to freedom in education and the Catholic press. While in prison, he comforted his fellow prisoners by showing them goodness, love, and peace, even asking them to pray for their jailers. He died from a fatal injection during a “medical experiment”.
