Saint Hugh of Grenoble was a French bishop, most notably recognized as the co-founder of the Carthusian Order with St. Bruno. As a reformer and supporter of the papacy he was overwhelmed with the problems of the world, yet he persevered as bishop of Grenoble for 52 years. He restored the Cathedral of Grenoble, defended the papacy against the state, and helped with Gregorian reforms. Two years after he died, he was canonized. He is the patron saint of headache sufferers, due to his personal suffering from migraines.
