Saint Adele was born in Germany, the daughter of King Dagobert II. After her husband’s death, she became a nun, founded a convent and became the first abbess. Her son was the father of St. Gregory of Utrecht. She was also a disciple of St. Boniface, who said that her life was filled with compassion, good works and a deep communion with God.
