Saint John Nepomucene was consecrated to God by his parents after he was cured of a childhood disease. He became a priest and a moving preacher, attracting the notice of the King, who invited him to the royal court. He is known as the “Martyr of the Confessional” after refusing to divulge the Queen's confession. The King in his rage had John burned, tied to a wheel, and thrown in the river. Five stars were seen over the spot where he drowned.
