Saint Bertha of Kent was a French princess who married King Æthelberht of Kent on the condition that she could practice her Catholic faith. In 596, Pope Gregory sent St. Augustine of Canterbury to England. With St. Bertha’s influence, they converted King Æthelberht and spread the Gospel, making England a Catholic nation. She’s buried in St. Martin’s Church, part of St. Augustine’s Abbey.
