Saint Regina of Autun was a virgin martyr born in France. She was the daughter of an aristocratic pagan and raised by Christians after her mother died in childbirth. She lived as a shepherdess immersed in prayer. At 15, the Roman proconsul, Olybrius, wanted to marry her but she would not renounce her faith. He had her imprisoned, tortured and then beheaded.
