Saint Zelie Martin was Alencon, France most famous lacemaker. She was born into a military family and sought unsuccessfully to enter the religious life. Zelie met Saint Louis Martin in 1858, married and had 9 children. Their faith sustained them, through the deaths of 4 children. Saint Therese, the "Little Flower" was their last child, who was "sheer joy to everyone".
