Saint Victor was a Roman soldier and martyr who publicly denounced idol worship. By order of Emperor Maximian, he was tortured and imprisoned, where he converted three Roman soldiers who were subsequently put to death. When offered a chance to sacrifice to a statue of Jupiter, Saint Victor kicked it over. He was then sentenced to be drowned by a millstone; however, the stone broke, and he was ultimately beheaded. The palm branch represents his martyrdom and his triumphant eternal life in heaven.
